Instead, it extracts heat from various external sources (the atmosphere is the most common source), amplifies it, and transfers it into the pool water.
Looking further into this process, a swimming pool heat pump works in a closed circuit or cycle, following the following stages:
Warm outdoor air is drawn into the system by a fan.
This air is then circulated through the evaporator coil, where the liquid refrigerant is turned into a gas by heating.
The resulting gas is pumped through a compressor. Due to the compression, the gas temperature value increases to a level of up to 93℃.
Meanwhile, cold water is drawn from the pool and filtered, then pumped into the heat pump using a condenser coil.
The heated compressed gas is contacted with water through a condenser. It then gradually transfers heat to bring the pool water to the desired temperature.
The gas is now cooled to a liquid state again and sent back to the evaporator coil, and the cycle begins again.
